Cradle
9|28|18
It’s dark outside tonight,
It’s loud inside my mind,
And though the hour is late,
My fear is wide awake
-she’s screaming.
What happened to our hope?
Where else can we go?
You left us here alone,
And there’s a gaping hole
-without you.
Come close to us,
Bend low enough,
It is Your touch
-we’re craving.
Come near tonight,
Come shine a light,
Make one thing right
-I’m losing.
You crushed my budding hope,
A fragile trust was broke,
You left me here alone
-I’m bleeding.
Come tend these wounds,
Come heal the bruised,
There’s much to soothe
-within us.
Be a cradle for this storm,
Your arms to keep me warm,
My head against Your chest,
Held there I will find rest
-for all things.
Your Love will be the feast,
The nourishment I need,
Your Mercy makes me new,
And I find strength in You
-so feed me.
Bend low for me tonight,
Come make something right,
Reach me if You can,
I’ll sleep within Your hands
-I’m willing.
What a great piece of writing. Thank you for sharing.
cheers,
eric
