SHOULD GOD BE GRACE
Should God be Grace
I know Her ways
The purest Light
Beyond the haze
That’s shining through
To show the way
When all else lies in darkness.
Should God be Grace
She’s held my hand
When I’ve forgotten
Who I am
She’s lifted me
To help me stand
From beds of my own making.
Should God be Grace
She falls like drops
Of truth
On all my tired thoughts
That keep me in my
“I am nots”
And speaks a different story.
Should God be Grace
She is the floor
That comes to hold
My feet secure
When every other
Place before
Gave way and left me falling.
Should God be Grace
She changes shape
To fill the gaps that
Life has made
She knows the place
Of every pain
And fits within the spaces.
Should God be Grace
She is the wind
That moves me to
Begin again
Regardless of the
Place I’m in
Her offering is Mercy.
Should God be Grace
I’ve felt Her move
In ways that I
Could never prove
But what I know
I cannot lose
And so I let Her hold me.
Thank you, Jessica.
Simply and beautifully expressed!
I SO identify with the last verse!
