A Love Letter to those whose faith is falling apart,
To those who feel fear because they are dismantling their belief in hell and damnation.
To those who feel shame because they are unraveling ideas of embodiment and purity.
To those who feel shaky because the foundation of their lives seems to be crumbling.
To those who feel rattled because their certainty has turned to doubt.
To those who feel disillusioned because they are realizing they’ve been lied to.
To those who feel sad because they are losing their community.
To those who feel angry because the leaders they followed weren’t trustworthy.
To those who feel lost because they are leaving the fold.
To those who feel guilty because they are dishonoring family.
To those who feel numb because the loss is too great.
You are not alone.
You have never been alone.
The Voice that is guiding you now, away from the faith you’ve known, has always been guiding you, and the voice inside of you is trustable. If you look into your story, I bet you will see it, a thread weaving through your life. Maybe you were taught that you couldn’t trust that voice, and yet, there it was guiding you from within all along like a steady companion. Call “The Voice” what you will - Christ, the Spirit, Source, the Universe, the True Self, it doesn’t matter because what I know to be true is that you have always been held. You are held even now, in the darkness, in the fear and the loneliness, the disillusionment, the deep grief. Love has always been in these places.
Intrinsic love is inescapable. No matter where you find yourself on the spectrum of faith, know that you are loved. And know that it’s going to be ok.
Love always makes a way.
Deeply,
A fellow sojourner
Hi David,
I do believe in God's comprehensive reconciliation and restoration of all things...inescapable love. The idea of eternal damnation and conscious torment seems so unlike the love of Christ, but it sure is what I was brought up to believe! It can be such a scary dismantling until one really lets it go.

You write to those "...dismantling their belief in hell and damnation." I have become thoroughly convinced of God's comprehensive reconciliation and restoration of all things, "Christus Victor."
Are you of like mind?
