‘There is a contemplative in all of us,
    almost
strangled
    but still alive,
    who craves
quiet
    enjoyment of the now,
    and longs to
touch
    the seamless
    garment of
silence
    which
    makes
whole’

    Alan P. Tory

I met my inner contemplative once
    between text messages
    and urgent
meetings
he urged me to slow down
    be silent
    wait
    he tempted me to
leave
    my life of driven tasks
    and effective habits
    and ultimate
succes
so i strangled him until he fell
    and burried him beneath
    all the
baggage i could heap
    of fear
    and doubt
    and insecurity
    and feeling
much more focussed
    returned to work
