IRPJ.org Presents: “The Experience & Practice of Mutual Respect Across Faiths”
IRPJ.org Presents:
"The Experience & Practice of Mutual Respect Across Faiths"
The Institute for Religion, Peace & Justice (IRPJ.org) hosted a conversation on the topic of "The Experience & Practice of Mutual Respect Across Faiths."
The Hosts, Bradley Jersak and Andrew Klager welcomed guest lecturers from Jewish, Muslim & Christian traditions, including Safi Kaskas, Nahid Saiyed, Mark Braverman, Dawud Abdur-Rahman, and Mercy Aiken.
Each speaker shares their own perspective on developing mutual respect in the work we do as peacemakers in the world. Students of the IRPJ Certificate program then responded with questions for our guests.
For those who want university-accredited training in the work of Peace & Justice, IRPJ.org offers one-year certificates (online – BA or MA levels) and an MA in Peace Studies. See our website for more information.

What is the Point of ‘Evangelism’? Christopher James
What's the point of 'evangelism'? I got to thinking critically about this question roughly ten days ago in Yosemite National Park. Me and two of my close friends had woken up at dawn to catch the sunrise up at Taft Point. Once we had arrived, we realized...
Sin is Not a Moral Problem – Fr. Stephen Freeman
Many readers have never before heard that there is no such thing as moral progress – so I am not surprised that I have been asked to write in more depth on the topic. I will start by focusing on the question of sin itself. If we rightly understand the nature of sin...
On Going Back to Church – Jeannine Buntrock
Prior to this month, I hadn’t attended church in close to five years. As the daughter of a church pastor, I’d grown up attending church every week and I even attended my denomination’s university. My Sabbath and Holy Day-centered denomination changed radically when I...
“He Shall Come Again In Glory”: The Second Coming & Divine Judgment Re-imagined – Sergei Bulgakov and Fr. Aiden Kimel
Editor's Note: In the aftermath of deconstruction/reconstruction re: eternal destiny, especially among Western Evangelicals and Progressives, there remains the need to reimagine the parousia (2nd coming) and final judgement. If the last days...
